I did an interview and made a short video for the ITN News on the attraction of Love Island.

I suggested that a major aspect of the show for the viewer is trying to understand what's genuine in a relationship and what isn't. Can we understand what's real and what's not by reading the body language?

I argued that the programme encourages viewers to develop their own hypotheses about the tell-tale signs, to try to spot incongruities and to go on social media to offer their views and interpretations. A programme like that works well, I suggested, because there is an emotional connection with the whole thing, built by trying to see which relationships hold up.
